How often should hedges be trimmed?
Most garden hedges need trimming two or three times a year, usually in late spring and again in late summer or autumn. Fast-growing screening plants can need it more often to stay neat.
Do you take the hedge clippings away?
Yes. We rake up and remove all the clippings and blow the paths clean. If you want to keep them, we can mulch them for your garden beds instead.
Can you cut back a hedge that has got too tall or too wide?
Yes. Overgrown hedges can be reduced in height and width. With some plants it is healthier to do this over two visits so the hedge recovers well. We will explain the options when we see it.
